This intensive, interactive half-day programme will prepare directors of co-operatives for the role and additional responsibilities of chairing their board or a board committee. It can also serve as a time-efficient and stimulating refresher for existing chairs, or experienced chairs who are new to co-operatives.

The programme covers the five main tasks of the board chair, with particular emphasis on how these fit together in the co-operative environment.

The workshop is facilitated by Richard Westlake, one of New Zealand’s most experienced governance trainers. Richard has more than 25 years’ experience as a board chair, he has been chair of two co-operative boards and has been a director on many co-operative boards. Richard writes a blog specifically for board chairs and experienced directors, at chairingtheboard.com.

A networking lunch is included.
