Visique is a co-operative network of independent optometrists located on the main streets of NZ’s towns and cities. Established in 2000, the proudly NZ-owned and operated co-op takes great care of Kiwi eyes.

Visique currently has over 50 Members, each committed to providing the highest quality professional eye care and sharing access to Member-only services that help deliver a competitive advantage.

Joining Visique is about being in practice for yourself, not by yourself, says Chief Executive Neil Human.

“We exist to help our Members compete and succeed in a challenging market place while practising their profession without restrictions. We offer flexible and optional buying power, business support services including inventory management and marketing, peer-to-peer information sharing and a clinical focus.

“Visique allows optometrists to maintain their independence, while still receiving the benefits of belonging to New Zealand’s largest optical co-operative,” Neil says.

Neil delivered the “Windows to the soul” presentation at the inaugural Co-operative Business Leaders Forum in March 2017.

Visique amply demonstrates the value – and values – of the highly successful co-operative business model, from both economic and social perspectives. Visique can be found at the heart of their local communities, supporting them through initiatives such as ‘Free sunglasses for new entrants’.

“During the 12 years that we’ve run the campaign, Visique has distributed more than 225,000 free pairs of sunglasses to new school entrants throughout New Zealand. By the end of 2016, Visique will have protected the eyes of more than 233,000 Kiwi kids”.

“The programme also highlights with parents and teachers the importance of children’s vision care,” says Neil.
