OLIVER O’NEILL, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER – RURALCO
Ruralco CFO Oliver O’Neill received the inaugural Co-operation Amongst Co-operatives award in recognition of his entrepreneurial leadership across a range of collaboration initiatives.
Co-operation Amongst Co-operatives is a key co-operative principle, including establishing and developing joint supply agreements, lowering costs through joint procurement initiatives, and the sharing of resources and information.
During 2016/17 we placed considerable emphasis on driving increased collaboration amongst our Members. In recognition of its importance, Cooperative Business NZ this year introduced the Co-operation Amongst Co-operatives award as part of its annual celebration of all things co-operative.
Craig Presland says Oliver is passionate about driving collaboration amongst our Members..
“Over the past financial year, Oliver has worked extensively with nine fellow Cooperative Business NZ Members.
“In that time, he has delivered cost savings for fellow co-ops across a range of products and services, these including farm fuel, electricity, general farm supplies, Ruralco card deals and the purchase of vehicles.
“Oliver’s efforts in driving lower electricity prices, for example, involved a great deal of patience and tenacity, as well as expert knowledge of tariffs, peak/off peak rates and varying price points for volume usage,” says Craig.
