As 2022 draws to a close, it’s a great opportunity to reflect over the past 12 months. For myself, I have watched the huge strides taken by many of our members to address the challenges you face around climate, supply chain, people, health and wellbeing, the regulatory environment – considering both the short and long term impacts upon your members, your local communities, your staff, and how you can be part of the way forward. It is a privilege for Cooperative Business NZ to continue to support you on this journey.
The upcoming election will be pivotal for New Zealand, and the business community. We will be working to ensure the government recognise how intrinsic you are to our economy and society.
In this vein, a recent highlight for me was hosting our Annual Business Awards where we celebrated our members businesses and senior leaders who are making such a difference. Another highlight was attending Capricorn’s Annual Gala Dinner celebrating their 25th year. Both were wonderful opportunities to hear our (and your) members’ stories. The value that your leadership place on being co-operative and mutual businesses and supporting your members’ continuing success was hugely evident across both these proceedings.
