Co-op Exchange: Inside risk, resilience and the unknown with FMG

A member-only series for co-op and mutual leaders

What keeps your board or leadership team awake at night?

When we asked members about their biggest challenges, managing known and emerging risks topped the list. And it's not difficult to see why.

Artificial intelligence is developing faster than many organisations can adapt. Cyber threats continue to evolve. Geopolitical instability and the shift away from rules-based international trade are creating new uncertainties for New Zealand businesses, with potential consequences for everything from fuel and fertiliser prices to supply chains and transport costs. Meanwhile, existing and emerging regulatory obligations continue to demand attention.

So how do you prepare for risks you can anticipate, let alone those you can't?

For our inaugural Co-op Exchange, we're delighted to be hosted by FMG at its Wellington offices for a candid conversation with members of its Risk and Audit Committee.

As a mutual insurer with deep roots in New Zealand's rural economy, FMG understands the importance of anticipating, assessing and responding to risk. Its committee will share perspectives on risk oversight, financial integrity and compliance, including insights into a new risk framework FMG is preparing to introduce.

But this isn't a conventional presentation. It's an opportunity to ask questions, challenge thinking and explore how approaches used by one of New Zealand's leading mutuals might inform decisions in your own organisation.

Held under the Chatham House Rule, Co-op Exchange is a new invitation-only series designed specifically for senior executives and directors of our member cooperatives and mutuals. Each two-hour gathering combines networking over drinks, a closed-door conversation with experienced leaders or experts, and time to continue discussions with peers over refreshments.

Places will be limited to encourage genuine discussion and participation. A modest registration fee will apply.

Join us for an opportunity to learn from FMG, exchange perspectives with fellow leaders and strengthen your approach to an increasingly unpredictable world.

Tickets available soon.
